Stephen Lawrence
From the hills of Van Buren, Arkansas to the lens of a camera, the journey has been anything but straight — and that's what makes it worth telling. After studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design and earning his Bachelor's Degree in 2008, he returned home and spent a decade serving his community as a Law Enforcement Officer, including meaningful years as a School Resource Officer working alongside the youth of Crawford County.
It was a rediscovery — picking up a camera again years later — that reignited something he hadn't realized he'd been missing. In 2024, he took on a personal challenge: photograph as many bird species as possible within Crawford County over the course of a single year. He ended that year with 118 recorded species.
Now based in Wichita, Kansas, he's turning the page on a new chapter — new landscapes, new wildlife, and a growing passion for portrait work. Same dedication, new community.
